Assessed values for 2019 are out.

The BC assessment authority has published its assessed values for 2019. You can check the value of your property assessment here. Assessments will be in the mail shortly to property owners. You have the ability to submit an appeal before January 31st if you are not happy with the valuation.  It looks like all Whistler properties have seen an increase this year. Remember that this does not necessarily mean an increase in property taxes, as the mill rate has not been set yet. Property taxes are determined by multiplying the mill rate by the assessed value. It would appear that the assessment authority is trying to get their values aligned with market values. From what I can tell if there was a sale of a property recently, the assessed value is very close to what it sold for.
